Responsibilities
The Financial Advisor
- Disability Income/Term Insurance Specialist role in the Ameriprise Advisor Center (AAC) is responsible for contacting and interacting with current (and potentially prospective) clients via telephone specializing and focus on increasing Riversource Disability Income and Term Insurance product sales. Main activities will include: making outbound sales calls, taking inbound sales calls, completing analysis and client presentations using tools such as WebEx, webinars, video conf. and the illustration tools. Includes:

* Develop and deepen relationships with current (and potentially prospective) clients via the telephone, specializing in Riversource Disability Income/Term insurance. Includes developing rapport and driving a needs based discussion to engage clients and prospects in an effort to understand their insurance needs.

* Gather and analyze clients personal financial data and situation; provide client centric solutions including the education of features and benefits of the product/strategy; ensuring that recommendations are based on the best interest of the client resulting in the sale and/or service as agreed to by the client. Includes explaining and discussing with clients the advantages and disadvantages of various insurance products, including the costs, monetary values or returns, death benefits, and risks of each. Partner with primary advisor for all non-Riversource options.

* Use software, including proprietary programs, to log activity run hypothetical scenarios, submit and track business.

* Manage work/time to optimize client interactions. Includes: preparing for sales calls to clients, placing outbound calls to existing clients/prospects, setting and holding meetings, gathering and documenting information to ensure compliance requirements are met, facilitation of appropriate business processes and the monitoring of interactions and next steps.

* Develop and maintain relationships with partnering advisors, leaders and others responsible for program.

* Engage in on-going professional development to increase industry, product, sales and servicing skills and abilities. Maintain all appropriate FINRA/other licenses and requirements up to date.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor-s Degree or equivalent.

* 3-5 years- experience in wholesaling or direct selling of financial products and services, preferably insurance.

* Life and Health Insurance licenses.

* 7 and 63/66 FINRA registration.

* Proven ability to establish rapport and credibility quickly with clients and other advisors.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Effective presentation skills utilizing virtual sales tools such as WebEx, webinars or teleconferencing.
