Dreaming and traveling

QUESTION: Masters, I have been having dreams where I am aware that I am dreaming and have been trying to control the dreams such as meet with my spirit guides, fly and levitate objects. I have had some success but would like more information on how to control the dream as I don’t always get what I ask for. Some of the time when I am performing these acts in my dreams my hands hurt and once they felt so cold I thought they were getting frost bite. Why do my hands hurt so much? What other things might be beneficial for me to try in my dreams (can I try viewing my past lives)? Is there a way I can have these experiences more often? Also, do these new abilities have anything to do with the Earth’s electrical impulses lessening? ~Sue, USA
ANSWER: The biggest problem with giving instructions to yourself while awake, in the manner of controlling your dreams, is that once you are asleep, the unconscious mind is in control. Your unconscious is the residence of your higher self, or soul. You may think that you need or want to do one thing, and your soul may think that it is better for you to try something else first—or, maybe, that your desires are not appropriate for you at that time.
The pain in your hands is partially caused by your determination. When you want something desperately enough, you clench your hands into fists, putting pressure on the nerve endings. If you crick your wrist sharply enough, you cut off all feelings and circulation to your hand and the area becomes cold from lack of blood flow. Learn to relax and not be so invested in the outcome of your nightly activities.
You must learn to be a little more patient with yourself. You are doing wonderfully. Your guides are there to help you and to choose some of the experiences you are having. There is a lot more going on than you remember when you awaken. It takes time to train the conscious mind to recognize what is important for you to recall.
As you become more proficient in using your dream time to remember things and how to do them, you will get closer to opening your akashic records for examination. All past lives will then be available for review. Start each sleep cycle with your desire to experience something, and to remember it when you awaken. But don’t forget to allow your inner direction to take you where it is important for you to visit.
The cycle of the planets and the shifting of electrical impulses are allowing all humans to more successfully use their essential energy. You can communicate better, interface faster, and understand more. Happy travels!

Hooked and ready to be reeled in

QUESTION: Masters, I have felt like my heart and mind have been in two different places for some time. When I asked a channeler about the strong connection I felt with someone in my life who is not my husband, they revealed that there are many fine strands emanating from his solar plexus chakra to my heart, and he is exerting his energy to make sure that I am still “in the picture” for when he may need me again. They asked him to allow my heart to move along in its natural evolution within this relationship. I am not saying the energy is one-way, but I am wondering how much my feelings for this person derive from this phenomenon and whether my feelings for him will evaporate if these strands loosen? I have never felt the heart and soul connection with my husband like I have felt with this person. Is this person conscious of what he is doing, and are some people able to “hook” people like this at will? ~Beverly, USA
ANSWER: Psychic connections are very real. They rarely, if ever, “pop up” on their own. They are intentionally created for selfish control by the one enforcing them. Your sense of connection to this man is completely because of the strands between the two of you. You did not have any say in the feelings you had for him because he is able to totally manipulate you through this connection. What you feel is what he wants you to feel.
It is exactly as you have been told: he is maintaining the connection to have you around if he ever wants to pull you in again and continue his use of you. Think of the strands as the strings of a puppet master. The marionette can do nothing to prevent the use to which its body is manipulated. It senses a connection to the puppeteer and only feels alive while the strings are being pulled. But the “life” is not real; it is a representation of the desire of the handler.
These feelings differ from what you have with your husband because he has never tried to control you and bend you to his will. What you felt with this other man was your energy being boosted by the addition of his direct attachment.
You have a choice. Take charge of your own life and discover your feelings from within, or let him maintain his control and be a slave to this connection. Neither is right or wrong. Choosing experiences is what the human existence is all about.

Sleeping walking

QUESTION: Masters, I used to sleep walk as a child. I was wondering what is happening with our consciousness and body when we sleep walk? Is there some astral traveling going on or another entity using the body? ~Stephanie, USA
ANSWER: In more than 99% of sleep walking, the body is taking instructions from the conscious mind, which is assuming it is still awake and in total control of its body. In other words, you are acting out the dream sequences that your mind is mulling over. It does not occur as you see it in your cinema, with the body holding its arms straight out and walking like a zombie. Rather, the body is slowly pursuing some normal activity that the consciousness would direct were it aware of its surroundings. Your occurrences were such as these.
In astral traveling, part of the soul leaves the body behind and travels away from the physical. It goes places and in ways that the body cannot. The body remains in a sleep state and awaits the return of the soul’s awareness.
In fewer than 1% of instances, a discarnate—a soul that has left its own body but not returned home—may enter into another’s body and make it move around. In this case, the owner of the body would, on waking, be aware of a second occupant. Such a discarnate would not be a very powerful one; it would be able to take control of the body only when the original soul had gone into a sleep cycle.

Psychology and Spirituality
Tuesday, November 8th, 2011
QUESTION: Masters, I work as a psychological counselor, and would like to inject spirituality into my method of working since it’s always been a strong personal interest of mine. In essence, I would like to fuse the classic psychological schools of thought with spiritual elements in the method of support that I offer. The how of it all still eludes me though; I can’t seem to bring them both ‘on the same page.’ (Probably because the classic psychology training that I had didn’t pay any attention to the spiritual element in human experience, and even looks down upon it, still.) ~Gert, Belgium
ANSWER: Jung and Freud interjected spirituality into their work by considering that there was more than a physical side to their patients. They just never wrote it into their techniques because it couldn’t be physically substantiated. The problem you have found with an integration of modern techniques and daily life comes out when you consider that the definition of psychology is the science of the mind and the behaviors it exhibits.
Spirituality deals not with the conscious mind but with the soul, which does not dictate behaviors, nor is it part of your consciousness. The soul consists of unconditional love, has no judgmental capabilities, and follows no set rules based on belief systems.
The easiest way for you to use spirituality within your practice is to lead a life based on its principles. Feel the need your patients have for change and the way to obtain it. All souls are different, and comparing them to norms is doing them a disservice. Help them to see that most of their difficulties come from a lack of awareness that they have freedom of choice. They need to approach their fears and doubts as signposts for the life lessons they have chosen. By going into these, they pinpoint the blockages and can learn their way through.
